At VoiceRefine, we believe your voice recordings and personal thoughts are private. We have designed our app to respect your privacy at every step. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or share your personal information on our servers.

VoiceRefine processes your voice recordings primarily on your device and through secure communication with our transcription service.

Voice Recordings

• Purpose: Voice recordings are captured to be transcribed and refined by AI into polished text.
• Processing: Audio files are sent to our secure server for transcription and AI processing. They are processed in memory and immediately deleted after processing. We do not permanently store your audio.
• Storage: The transcribed and refined text is stored locally on your device and synced via your personal iCloud account.

Data Storage

• Local Storage: All your notes, sessions, recordings, and preferences are stored on your device using Apple's secure storage systems.
• iCloud Sync: VoiceRefine uses Apple's CloudKit (iCloud) to synchronize your data across your own Apple devices. We (the developers) do not have access to your iCloud data.
• Control: You can manage or delete your iCloud data at any time through your device's Apple ID settings.

Location Data

• Purpose: If you grant permission, VoiceRefine can attach location information to your recordings, helping you remember where ideas originated.
• Storage: Location data is stored locally on your device and synced via iCloud. It is not sent to any third-party servers.

Third-Party Services

We do not use third-party analytics SDKs or advertising networks that track your behavior.

• AI Processing: We use our own secure backend for AI text processing. Audio is processed transiently and not retained.

In-App Purchases

VoiceRefine uses Apple's StoreKit for in-app purchases. All payment processing is handled securely by Apple. We receive transaction verification information but do not have access to your payment details.

Data Retention

Since we do not store your data on our servers, you retain full control over data retention. Deleting the app or removing data from within the app will remove it from your local device. If you have enabled iCloud sync, data may remain in your iCloud account until you delete it.

Children's Privacy

Our app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Since we do not collect data, we do not track age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
