Overview

TraceLens is built around a single promise: your workout and health data belong to you. The app is local-first and read-only — it reads your workouts from Apple Health to help you understand them, and it never uploads, shares, or sells anything. This Privacy Policy explains exactly what happens to your data.

Data Collection

We do not collect, store, or share your personal information on any server.

TraceLens has no backend, no analytics, and no account system. All processing happens entirely on your device. We operate zero servers that receive or store your personal data.

Health & Fitness Data

Apple Health (read-only): With your permission, TraceLens reads workout data from Apple Health — including routes, heart rate, pace, distance, elevation, and duration for your runs, rides, walks, and hikes.
Read-only access: TraceLens only reads your Health data. It never writes to, modifies, or updates your Apple Health records. Your Health data remains the source of truth, untouched by the app.
On-device processing: All analysis — route rendering, heart-rate zones, elevation profiles, and trend calculations — is performed locally on your device. Your raw workout data is not transmitted anywhere.

Data Storage

Local Storage: TraceLens reads from Apple Health on demand and caches the results on your device for a smooth experience. Your data lives in your private on-device store.
No Cloud Sync by Us: TraceLens does not operate its own cloud sync. Any iCloud-based backup of your device is handled by Apple, not by TraceLens.
Control: You can revoke Health access at any time in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › TraceLens. Deleting the app removes all locally cached data from your device.

Location Data

TraceLens does not perform its own GPS tracking or collect live location. Route information comes from the workouts you have already recorded in Apple Health. This route data is processed on-device and is never sent to us.

Third-Party Services

TraceLens does not use any third-party analytics SDKs, advertising networks, crash reporters, or tracking services. There are no third-party servers involved in your experience.

In-App Purchases

If TraceLens offers optional in-app purchases, they are processed by Apple's StoreKit. All payment processing is handled securely by Apple. We receive only transaction verification information and never have access to your payment details.

Data Retention

Since we do not store your data on our servers, you retain full control over data retention. Revoking Health access or deleting the app removes all cached workout data from your device.

Children's Privacy

Our app does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Because we do not collect data on our servers, we do not track age or build user profiles.

Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top.
