Frequently Asked Questions
Which workouts does TraceLens support?
TraceLens reads runs, rides, walks, and hikes that you have recorded in Apple Health. If it appears as a workout in the Health app, TraceLens can analyze it — route, heart rate, pace, elevation, and duration.
Where does TraceLens get my data?
TraceLens reads directly from Apple Health on your device. The first time you open the app, iOS will ask for permission to share your workout data with TraceLens. You choose what to grant, and you can change it anytime in Settings.
Does TraceLens write to Apple Health?
No. TraceLens is strictly read-only. It only reads your existing workouts to analyze and visualize them. It never writes to, edits, or deletes your Apple Health records.
Is my data private?
Yes. All analysis happens on your device. TraceLens has no account system, no servers, and no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs. Your workouts never leave your device to us. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Do I need an account?
No account, no sign-up, no login. Just open the app and grant Health access. That's it.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Because everything is processed on your device, TraceLens works fully offline. An internet connection is never required to view your routes, charts, or trends.
Which devices are supported?
TraceLens is built for iPhone and iPad. It reads workouts recorded on your Apple Watch or iPhone via Apple Health — but you don't need an Apple Watch to use it.
Are there leaderboards or social features?
No. TraceLens is a personal tool — you only compare yourself to yourself. There are no friends, no rankings, no likes, and no gamification. Your progress is yours alone.
How do I delete my data?
TraceLens stores no data on our servers. To remove everything, simply delete the app — this clears all locally cached workout data from your device. You can also revoke Health access in iOS Settings › Privacy & Security › Health › TraceLens.
